A wild final round featured a little bit of everything as Zach Johnson captured his second major title with a playoff win at the 144th British Open.

Johnson is the first player in golf history to win his first two majors at Augusta National and St. Andrews.

The longest event in tournament history saw the final round played Monday after bad weather threw a wrench into the second round Friday and Saturday. Round 4 brought its share of heavy rain and high winds, but a tightly bunched field soldiered on across a soft Old Course at St. Andrews, collecting birdies and pushing the bar ever higher.

When the dust settled, Jordan Spieth's quest for a 2015 Grand Slam was spoiled when he finished one shot behind the three leaders at 15 under par. He had a chance to force himself into a playoff on the 18th hole, but his putt came up agonizingly short.

Zach Johnson stormed through the first 12 holes with seven birdies, finishing with a 66, which matched Marc Leishman. Meanwhile, 54-hole co-leader Louis Oosthuizen shot 69 to earn a shot at his second Claret Jug.
