NFL Insider Says Jets Aren't 'Serious' About Trading Players, Have High Prices

Andrew PetersOct 22, 2025

The New York Jets are the last team remaining without a win and should be looking to sell at the trade deadline, but one NFL staffer believes they aren't "serious" about finding deals.

"The Jets are listening, but their prices are high, which tells me they're not serious about trading … yet," an assistant general manager told Fox Sports' Ralph Vacchiano.

The Jets have a handful of valuable trade pieces heading into the deadline, one of which Vacchiano noted is edge rusher Jermaine Johnson. The Athletic's Zach Berman noted on Wednesday that the Philadelphia Eagles are prime candidates to buy at the deadline, and one of their biggest needs is an edge rusher.

Johnson, however, let fans know that he's not interested in being moved this season.

Johnson, 26, has logged 15 tackles and a sack in four games.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler included running back Breece Hall and cornerback Michael Carter II in his list of the top 25 players to be traded before Nov. 4.

The Jets clearly aren't postseason contenders this year, and it would likely be in their best interest to build for the future at the deadline. First, it seems they'll have to be a bit more flexible with their asking prices.
