Week 8 Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet for Deep Sleepers to Grab on Waiver Wire
Fantasy managers who feel like they've been overly active on the waiver wire this season probably aren't imagining it. The list of star players who have suffered significant injuries has grown weekly, and the year has brought some flat-out unexpected draft busts.
Byes are also impacting the fantasy landscape, and this is shaping up to be one of the trickiest weeks of the season. The Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks will all be off in Week 8.
This means that a team comprised of Matthew Stafford, Jahmyr Gibbs, Ashton Jeanty, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Davante Adams, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Trey McBride and pretty much bank on a loss this week.
For managers only missing a couple of key players, though, some viable replacements may still be available on the waiver wire. Before we dig into this week's top sleepers, though, let's examine some early point-per-reception (PPR) flex rankings.

Deep Sleeper: Isaiah Davis, RB, New York Jets

A few sleeper running backs have emerged this season due to injuries. New York Jets backup Isaiah Davis is still firmly behind starter Breece Hall, but he's getting opportunities because of Braelon Allen's MCL sprain.
While Davis' role hasn't been significant yet, he's flashed enough to warrant more playing time. Last week, he had two carries and two receptions for 32 scrimmage yards. That's not much, but it's far better than a blank for fantasy managers.
And Davis could see more work this week against a middling Cincinnati Bengals run defense. It's looking like the Jets may pivot from Justin Fields to Tyrod Taylor at quarterback this week, and they'll want to support him with a strong running game.
The Bengals defense is allowing 4.7 yards per carry and has surrendered more fantasy points to opposing running backs than any other team this season.
Davis is an emergency option in deeper leagues and a reasonable handcuff for anyone with a spare bench spot. He's available in over 90 percent of Yahoo and ESPN leagues.
Deep Sleeper: Chimere Dike, WR, Tennessee TItans

It's hard to get too excited about anything involved with the Tennessee Titans offense this season. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward has shown flashes, but the offensive line isn't good, and the unit only looked moderately better after the firing of head coach Brian Callahan.
Whenever a pass-catcher emerges, though, it's worth taking note. Rookie fourth-round pick Chimere Dike had a breakout game in Week 7, coincidentally, after Tennessee pivoted from Callahan to Mike McCoy.
Against a good New England Patriots defense, Dike caught four passes for 70 yards and a touchdown. If he sees a sizeable role again this week, he should have reasonable flex value.
The Titans are set to visit the Indianapolis Colts, who have surrendered the second-most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Dike is rostered in just two percent of Yahoo and ESPN leagues.
