Paul KasabianOct 21, 2025

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones spoke on 105.3 The Fan about the possibility of a trade as the Nov. 4 deadline approaches, noting that the team will act if a move "fits" the franchise (h/t Jon Machota of The Athletic).

Jones made his remarks amid rumors that the Cowboys could be active at the deadline. ESPN's Adam Schefter said that Dallas is a "team to watch."

Dallas arguably played its best game of the season on Sunday, when the Cowboys defeated the Washington Commanders 44-22. The Cowboys are at .500 with a 3-3-1 record, but they've mostly fared well over the last four weeks after a 1-2 start.

The Cowboys have already been connected to one big name, Las Vegas Raiders edge-rusher Maxx Crosby, per former and longtime ESPN personality Trey Wingo.

Dallas has allowed 29.4 points per game, which is the third-most in the 32-team NFL. The Cowboys need much improvement on that end to seriously compete for the playoffs and beyond, even if their No. 2 scoring offense (31.7 PPG) looks unbeatable at times.

Dallas traded superstar edge-rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers before the season after a contract dispute, leaving the team with a big pass-rushing need. Through seven games, only one player (James Houston) has more than 1.5 sacks. Houston has 3.5 himself, and the team as a whole has just 14 sacks in seven weeks.

Crosby is a four-time Pro Bowler with 63.5 sacks and 153 quarterback hits over 102 lifetime games (six-plus seasons), so he could be a fit in town. Per Over the Cap, Crosby is on a three-year, $106.5 million extension that runs through 2026.

We'll see what direction the Cowboys go in soon enough. For now, Dallas is gearing up for a huge Sunday afternoon game at the Denver Broncos, who lead the AFC West at 5-2.
