Carlos Alcaraz Makes History with Most Expensive Racket Ever Sold at Auction

The tennis racket that Carlos Alcaraz used during his victory over Novak Djokovic in the 2023 Wimbledon final sold for $173,066.40 in an auction held by Prestige Memorabilia.

It was Alcaraz's first Wimbledon title and second Grand Slam triumph.

That makes it the most expensive racket ever sold at auction, topping the $157,000 paid in June for Rafael Nadal's racket from his 2017 French Open triumph.

According to Prestige Memorabilia, "The racket been photomatched by Resolution to 10 separate dates, including the epic July 16th Final against Djokovic, four of his other Wimbledon matches, and practice sessions from the grass court season. This comprehensive photomatching is accompanied by a full Resolution Photomatching certificate, confirming its use across multiple stages of Alcaraz's breakthrough run at SW19."
