Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings, Top Players, Sleepers and Positional Guide

Kristopher KnoxOct 20, 2025

Week 7 brought more excitement to NFL fans and more uncertainty to fantasy football managers. More than a few fantasy standouts disappointed during the week, and a few more—including Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels—exited with injuries.

Now managers head into a week that will see the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks on bye.

Here, you'll find early point-per-reception (PPR) rankings for Week 8, along with some top sleepers who might be available on the waiver wire.

Quarterback

Steelers Bengals Football
Bengals QB Joe Flacco
  1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
  2. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
  3. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
  4. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
  5. Drake Maye, New England Patriots
  6. Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  7. Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
  8. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
  9. Daniel Jones, Indianapolis Colts
  10. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
  11. Jordan Love, Green Bay Packers
  12. Jaxson Dart, New York Giants

Sleeper: Joe Flacco, Cincinnati Bengals

It didn't take long for quarterback Joe Flacco to figure out that targeting Ja'Marr Chase early and often was a good idea. In his second start for the Cincinnati Bengals, Flacco found Chase 16 times for 161 yards and a touchdown.

Flacco gashed the Pittsburgh Steelers defense to the tune of 342 passing yards and three touchdowns last Thursday night.

Moving forward, Flacco should be a solid matchup-based streamer, and he has a reasonable matchup in Week 8. The Bengals will host the New York Jets, who have surrendered an average of 21 fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks.

Flacco is rostered in just 11 percent of Yahoo leagues and five percent of ESPN leagues.

  2. Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts

  11. Rico Dowdle, Carolina Panthers
  12. D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears
  13. Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  14. Cam Skattebo, New York Giants
  15. J.K. Dobbins, Denver Broncos

Sleeper: Kyle Monangai, Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears rookie running back Kyle Monangai is starting to carve out a role in the offense. While he's still the clear-cut backup to D'Andre Swift, he got a big opportunity against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday and thrived.

Monangai racked up 81 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries and added two catches for 13 more yards.

This week, the Bears will visit the Baltimore Ravens, who have surrendered an average of 26.5 fantasy points to opposing backfields this season. There's a chance that Baltimore's defense will show improvement coming out of its bye, but Monangai remains one of the few enticing waiver options at RB this week.

Monangai is rostered in just seven percent of Yahoo leagues and four percent of ESPN leagues.

Wide Receiver

  1. Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals
  2. Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings
  3. CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys
  4. Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs
  5. Drake London, Atlanta Falcons
  6. Courtland Sutton, Denver Broncos
  7. Rome Odunze, Chicago Bears
  8. Emeka Egbuka, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  9. Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints
  10. DK Metcalf, Pittsburgh Steelers
  11. A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles
  12. Ladd McConkey, Los Angeles Chargers
  13. Michael Pittman Jr., Indianapolis Colts
  14. Quentin Johnston, Los Angeles Chargers
  15. Xavier Worthy, Kansas City Chiefs
  16. Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers
  17. Stefon Diggs, New England Patriots
  18. Deebo Samuel, Washington Commanders
  19. Zay Flowers, Baltimore Ravens
  20. DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles

Sleeper: Kayshon Boutte, New England Patriots

Second-year New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is quietly playing like an MVP candidate, and it's raised the fantasy value of Kayshon Boutte significantly.

Two weeks ago Boutte had his second huge game of the season, finishing with five catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns. He had a more modest outing in Week 7 but still finished with two catches, 55 yards and a touchdown.

This week, the Patriots will host the Cleveland Browns. While Cleveland's defense has been solid overall, it has had breakdowns in the secondary, leaving the unit markedly average against opposing receivers. Cleveland has surrendered an average of 29.7 fantasy points to receiver groups this season, making for a mid-level matchup for Boutte.

Boutte is rostered in 32 percent of Yahoo leagues and 27 percent of ESPN leagues.

Tight End

4 of 5
Steelers Bengals Football
Steelers TE Pat Freiermuth
  1. Tyler Warren, Indianapolis Colts
  2. George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers
  3. Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys
  4. Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles
  5. Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
  6. Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers
  7. Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
  8. Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders
  9. Mason Taylor, New York Jets
  10. Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns
  11. Hunter Henry, New England Patriots
  12. Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons

Sleeper: Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers

Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth has fallen off the fantasy map in 2025, largely because offensive coordinator Arthur Smith has been involving so many tight ends in the passing game. In Week 7, for example, Freiermuth, Jonnu Smith and Darnell Washington all had multiple receptions and a receiving touchdown.

As a result of Pittsburgh's rotation, Freiermuth is only rostered in seven percent of Yahoo leagues and five percent of ESPN leagues.

Freiermuth will likely see some action on the waiver wire this week after he caught five passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns against the Cincinnati Bengals. He's a decent sleeper play in Week 8 too.

While Freiermuth probably won't replicate last week's numbers against the Green Bay Packers, he could still thrive. No team has surrendered more fantasy points to opposing tight ends than Green Bay.
