Patrick Mahomes Jokes State Farm Commercials Helped on Chiefs' Viral 4th Down Play
Like a good neighbor, State Farm was there for Patrick Mahomes on Sunday—or at least his experience shooting commercials for the insurance company helped on a fourth-down play against the Las Vegas Raiders.
During the Kansas City Chiefs' win over the Raiders, Mahomes and the offense were facing a 4th-and-1 situation. Mahomes feigned like he wasn't going to call a play before getting into position and handing the ball to Kareem Hunt, who converted the first down.
"This f--king never f--king works, man," Mahomes could be heard saying on video.

After the game, Mahomes joked that being in front of the camera has turned him into quite the actor, before saying that offensive coordinator Matt Nagy came up with the idea.
"I think it comes from my State Farm commercials," Mahomes told reporters.
The Chiefs have used plenty of trick plays and crazy concepts in the past, but Mahomes putting his acting skills to the test might be a new one.
The Chiefs started the year 1-2, but have won four of their last five games to improve to 4-3 on the year. They put together their best performance of the season in a 31-0 win over Las Vegas on Sunday.
Kansas City will look to make it three wins in a row next week when it faces the Washington Commanders.
