Drake Maye Breaks Tom Brady's Patriots Record in Historic Performance vs. Titans
Drake Maye found himself in pretty good company Sunday.
The New England Patriots quarterback led his team to a commanding 31-13 victory over the Tennessee Titans while going 21-of-23 for 222 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions while adding 62 yards on the ground.

The Patriots announced Maye set a franchise record with a 91.3 completion percentage in a single game with at least 20 pass attempts. The previous record-holder just so happened to be Tom Brady, who completed 88.5 percent of his passes against the Jacksonville Jaguars in a game during the 2009 season.
For his part, Maye told reporters he "left some out there" after the win.
Optimism is as high in New England as it has been since the Brady era, so it was fitting that Maye broke the all-time great's record.
The AFC East team has won four straight to improve to 5-2 with the last three coming on the road. One of those road wins was over the presumed Super Bowl contender Buffalo Bills, and the Patriots are in first place in the AFC East.
Maye has been brilliant during the four-game winning streak with more than 200 passing yards in each of the contests and a combined seven touchdown passes to zero interceptions. He is protecting the ball, keeping plays alive with his legs and finding receivers downfield, which has opened up the entire offense.
The North Carolina product also has 113 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground during that stretch.
This is Maye's second season in the league after the Patriots selected him with the No. 3 overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft. It was reasonable to expect him to make a jump after he was relatively inconsistent as a rookie with a 3-9 record and 15 touchdown passes to 10 interceptions.
But even the most optimistic Patriots fan might not have been expecting him to be breaking Brady franchise records less than halfway through the 2025 campaign while leading the way for a first-place team.
Next up for New England is a matchup with the 2-5 Cleveland Browns, so Maye will have an opportunity to keep the momentum rolling against an overmatched opponent.
