"We got the love, the hope, greatness on there," Sanders said about the words on his cleats. "We got the peace on there. We got Dolph on there, you know. [Positivity] on there. Focus. These are my everyday cleats, man."
Sanders continued, "I gotta have, I gotta have purpose on there, you know. I got HBCUs on there. I gotta have a lot of stuff, you know, that I gotta play for nowadays.
"So every time I step foot in these cleats, man, I got something different I'm playing for. But these are my everyday practice cleats."
Sanders, who began the season as an emergency third-string option, is set to serve as the Browns' backup quarterback when Dillon Gabriel starts Sunday's Week 7 matchup against the visiting Miami Dolphins.
The Browns started the season with Joe Flacco in the starting position. The veteran quarterback was benched in favor of Gabriel ahead of Week 5, although head coach Kevin Stefanski said at the time that Flacco would remain QB2.
The Browns then traded Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals ahead of Week 6. Sanders told reporters at the time he saw a "light at the end of the tunnel."
Cleveland has lost both of Gabriel's first two starts. The rookie quarterback completed 56.5 percent of his passes for 411 passing yards with two passing touchdowns and no interceptions over the span.
Gabriel will hope to record his first win as a starter during Sunday's 1 p.m. ET matchup with the Dolphins. Sanders will meanwhile be waiting in case his team needs him to climb further up the depth chart.
