Packers' Flight to Cardinals Game Reportedly Delayed Due to Mechanical issues

Julia StumbaughOct 18, 2025

The Green Bay Packers' departure for a Week 7 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals was delayed Saturday night due to "mechanical issues with the team plane," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported.

The flight had been delayed for five hours and remained on the tarmac as of 7:16 p.m. ET, per Pelissero.

ESPN's Adam Schefter wrote at 7:52 p.m. ET that the Packers had "changed planes and are expecting to depart shortly."

The new plane ultimately took off around 8:20 p.m. ET, just under six hours behind schedule, per Schefter and ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

The Packers and Cardinals are scheduled to kick off Sunday at State Farm Stadium at 4:25 p.m. ET.

The Packers take two planes to games, one for staff and the other for players and coaches, Demovsky explained.

The impacted plane was the one full of players and coaches, which was originally scheduled to leave 15 minutes later than the staffers' plane, per Demovsky.

Demovsky noted that "it's possible the staff plane was already gone before the problem with the second plane was discovered."

The players and coaches are scheduled to arrive in Arizona at 8:32 p.m. local time (11:32 p.m. ET) Saturday night, per Demovsky.

That will give the Packers less than 17 hours of turnaround between touchdown and kickoff.

The delayed flight isn't the only uncertainty the Packers are having to deal with heading into the Week 7 matchup.

Running back Josh Jacobs, who vomited on the field during a Week 6 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, has been listed as questionable due to illness and a calf injury ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

The Packers then added cornerback Keisean Nixon to the injury report as questionable due to illness as of Saturday.

Green Bay will hope the delay doesn't stop Jacobs and Nixon from getting as much rest as they need to recover before Sunday afternoon's kickoff.
