49ers' Brock Purdy 'More Limited' Than Mac Jones in Practice Amid Injury, HC Says
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that quarterback Brock Purdy, who has been out for two games after suffering an aggravation of a turf toe variant on Sept. 28 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, returned to practice Wednesday in a limited fashion.
However, Shanahan noted that Purdy was "more limited" than backup quarterback Mac Jones, who was also limited at practice with knee and oblique issues.
"Brock is more limited than Mac," Shanahan said, per ESPN's Nick Wagoner. "Injuries frustrate people, but Brock is handling it right like he does everything. I know he's itching to get back."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Purdy played the first game of the season but sat out the next two with the toe ailment. He returned for Week 4 but has been out since after suffering the re-aggravation.
The 49ers have been crushed by injuries all year, with defensive superstars Nick Bosa and Fred Warner notably suffering season-ending ailments.
San Francisco pass-catchers have also been beset by injuries, with George Kittle, Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall notably missing time. Kittle has missed the team's last five games (hamstring), Pearsall has sat the last two (knee).
Jennings is dealing with ankle, rib and shoulder issues, although he returned last Sunday. However, he told reporters he is playing with five broken ribs and multiple ankle sprains.
Still, this team is in first place in the NFC West with a 4-2 record. That's in part because of Jones, who has fared well in Purdy's absence, leading the team to a 3-1 record in his starts. For the season, Jones has completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 1,252 yards, six touchdowns and three interceptions.
Purdy's practice participation is a good sign and brings hope he could be back soon. His next chance to return will be Sunday at home against the Atlanta Falcons. If not, then Jones should be back as QB1 as the 49ers look to stay atop the division.
