Breece Hall Trade Rumors Dismissed by Jets' Aaron Glenn After RB's Cryptic IG Post

Scott PolacekOct 15, 2025

The New York Jets are 0-6 and already appear to be playing out the string in what is the final season on Breece Hall's contract.

A trade only seems natural, especially with the Nov. 4 deadline approaching.

But head coach Aaron Glenn said Wednesday "they're rumors. I still feel the same way," when confirming he does not want to trade the running back just like he didn't want to in August, per ESPN's Rich Cimini.

There have been Hall rumors simmering in the background throughout the season, especially after Glenn said before the year he planned on rotating the backfield with Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis.

The rumors reached a fever pitch following the latest loss to the Denver Broncos because Hall took to Instagram and posted :"They want me to lay down but I got sum to stand for... #Free20."

It wasn't 100 percent clear if he meant he wanted to be free of the Jets or simply a bigger part of the offense, but he has been heavily featured with Allen sidelined by a knee injury.

Hall has 88 carries for 410 yards and 17 catches for 150 yards through six games, while Davis has a mere eight carries on the campaign. Hall is also third on the team in receptions behind Garrett Wilson and Mason Taylor.

There is surely some hesitancy to trade the Iowa State product with Allen sidelined, but the Jets aren't going to be realistic playoff contenders barring a dramatic turnaround regardless of the running back situation. If they don't plan on re-signing him after the year, a trade will allow them to get something back in return.

It may also let Hall play for a contender, especially if one needs better backfield production down the stretch of the season.

Still, Glenn made it clear he doesn't want to trade Hall, who remains one of the team's best offensive playmakers.
