Maxx Crosby Compares Cam Ward to Patrick Mahomes, 'He's Gonna Have a Great Career'
Maxx Crosby is a big fan of rookie quarterback Cam Ward following the Las Vegas Raiders' 20-10 win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
"He's a hell of a competitor, and I love his attitude," Crosby said of the rookie quarterback during The Rush (11:40 mark). "I know he wants to win really badly. He's going to have a great career. Guys like that, you can just tell they're wired the right way. He's gonna get better and better."

He added that Ward reminds him of Patrick Mahomes in that he'll "hold the ball until the last possible second."
"A lot of quarterbacks, they'll feel the heat and they're like, 'F--k,' and they just get rid of it," he continued. "He'll wait and wait and wait and wait, and you're like, 'Ok, is he really about to hold this motherfu--ker?' And you get a hit, but he's just trying to make an extra play, and you've got to respect that because a lot of quarterbacks don't want to get hit like that. And he doesn't give a damn, he's just trying to win."
Ward was hit plenty on Sunday, taking six sacks (Crosby accounted for two of them), and also turned the ball over three times in the loss.
Before the game, Ward had given himself an "F" grade on his rookie season thus far. While that was pretty harsh, Sunday's performance probably didn't change his mind much.
But he's clearly earning the respect of other players around the league, Crosby included. And that counts for something too.
