Washington was clinging to a two-point lead when quarterback Jayden Daniels fumbled during a handoff to Jacory Croskey-Merritt on a 3rd-and-1. Cornerback Nahshon Wright recovered the ball for the Bears with 3:07 on the clock.
Chicago's offense moved the ball into position for Jake Moody to nail a 38-yard field goal as time expired.

The Commanders could wind up making the playoffs with little drama. Should one game have an outsized impact in the division race or wild-card battle, they'll ultimately rue what happened in Week 6 even more.
