Aaron Rodgers Calls Steelers' Field 'Borderline Unplayable' During Browns Game

Doric SamOct 13, 2025

Despite Sunday's 23-9 win against the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers still had something to gripe about after the game.

Per The Athletic's Mike DeFabo and Zach Powell, Rodgers called the field at Pittsburgh's Acrisure Stadium "borderline unplayable" after multiple players slipped, and safety and special teams captain Miles Killebrew suffered a non-contact knee injury that was described as "significant" by Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.

"I just felt like it got real beat up," Rodgers said of the field. "By the time the third quarter rolled around, that thing was really beat up, so I feel bad about what happened to Miles (Killebrew). I'm not sure if you know there was any carry there. I know the field gets a lot of play."

Despite the poor state of the field, Rodgers threw for 235 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions to help the Steelers improve to 4-1.

Tomlin also spoke out about the field conditions, but he said he expects improvements to come shortly.

"I thought it was poor yesterday," Tomlin told reporters on Monday. "I'm not concerned about it going forward because it's my understanding it will be swapped out."

The Steelers will be on the road to face the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football before returning home in Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers, so Rodgers and company will surely be hoping the field is in better condition the next time they're on it.
