Brian Callahan Calls Out Cam Ward, Titans After Raiders Loss, 'Incredibly Discouraged'

Timothy RappOct 12, 2025

Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan called out his team after Sunday's 20-10 loss against the Las Vegas Raiders, and specifically rookie quarterback Cam Ward.

"I am incredibly discouraged by the outcome," he told reporters. "We felt good coming into the game. And to not be able to perform well on offense, to not be able to score points and then lose the game, it's disappointing. We've all got to be better. Cam's a part of that too. Cam's gotta play better football. We've gotta coach better, we've gotta play better, all those things. It's not all just him, but he is a part of it. You'd like to see some more good football being played, and we've gotta do a better job."

The Titans finished Sunday's loss with just 225 yards of offense, had three turnovers and were 3-of-13 on third downs, struggling to sustain drives. Ward finished 26-of-38 for 222 yards, a touchdown and an interception, taking six sacks. He also lost two fumbles.

Up until this point, one of the narratives surrounding the Titans and Ward has been that the young quarterback has obvious upside and talent but hasn't gotten much help from his supporting cast on offense.

On Sunday, however, Ward made a number of major mistakes that altered the trajectory of the game. Rookie or not, the Titans need him to be better.

"Very disappointed," the rookie quarterback told reporters after the game. "Just as an offense, especially myself. Anytime you have three turnovers, you're not going to have a chance to win the game. Especially two in situations where you're backed up, one before the half. I know I can't let that happen, but we've just got to continue to keep going."

The Titans are now 1-5, and while that isn't terribly surprising as the team continues its rebuild around a rookie quarterback, Sunday felt like a step in the wrong direction after last week's 22-21 upset win over the Arizona Cardinals.
