Rico Dowdle Trolls Cowboys After Panthers' Revenge Game Win, 'They Wasn't Buckled Up'

Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle tried to warn the Dallas Cowboys before Sunday's game, but it seems like they didn't heed his advice.

After totaling 238 scrimmage yards with a receiving touchdown in a 30-27 win over the Cowboys, Dowdle had a simple message for his opponents, telling reporters, "They wasn't buckled up."

The Panthers, meanwhile, got in on the fun with their own troll on social media:

Dowdle was referring to his comments from earlier in the week in which he declared, "They've got to buckle up. That was just meaning it's going to be a very physical game. I take pride in that. Buckle your chinstraps up. I will be coming."

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer responded to Dowdle's warning by saying, "I know we're going to have to buckle up. We'll bring our seatbelts, Rico. We'll buckle up. Can't wait to see him though."

However, it was Dowdle who got the last laugh on Sunday. He notched 30 carries for 183 yards and four catches for 56 yards and a score. It was his second straight 200-yard game after his breakout performance in last week's win over the Miami Dolphins.

Dowdle will look to keep the momentum going next week against a New York Jets team that fell to 0-6 with a loss to the Denver Broncos in London on Sunday.
