Cowboys Defense Ripped by Fans as Panthers Win Dowdle's Revenge Game Over Dak, Pickens
The Carolina Panthers and Rico Dowdle defeated the Dallas Cowboys 30–27 at home on Sunday on a game-winning field goal.
With the win, the Panthers improved to 3-3 on the season, while the Cowboys dropped to 2-3.
Fans criticized Dallas' defense for failing to contain Carolina's offense, allowing the Panthers to convert 3-of-8 third-down attempts and pick up 14 first downs on the ground. The Cowboys also gave up 410 total yards of offense.
The Cowboys defense was ripped by NFL fans after another disappointing showing, with many taking to social media to question their effort and scheme.
Bryce Young threw for 199 yards, three touchdowns and one interception while completing 17-of-25 passes, connecting with Tetairoa McMillan for two of the scores. Dowdle had a big revenge game, adding a receiving touchdown along with 239 total yards.
Dak Prescott battled for the Cowboys, finishing with 261 yards and three touchdowns on 25-of-34 passing. He found George Pickens, Jake Ferguson and Hunter Luepke for scores.
The Panthers will hit the road next Sunday to take on the New York Jets, while the Cowboys will host the Washington Commanders at home.
