Kyler Murray Out for Cardinals vs. Cowboys amid Injury, Jacoby Brissett Named QB1
Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray won't be under center for Monday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Murray was officially among the inactives for Monday's game, which confirmed a previous report by ESPN's Jeremy Fowler:

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Head coach Jonathan Gannon had told reporters on Saturday that Jacoby Brissett will start, although he mentioned Murray could "have a role" as he continues to recover from a foot injury.
However, he will not get the chance to see the field at all.
Prior to the foot injury, the two-time Pro Bowler was averaging a career-low 192.4 passing yards per game, and his 5.9 adjusted yards per attempt were a personal low as well, per Pro Football Reference.
Murray had at least continued to put his mobility on display, running for 173 yards and one touchdown on 29 carries.
The season is basically the 28-year-old's NFL career in a nutshell. He has never performed so badly that the Cardinals could feel comfortable in pivoting to a replacement, but he wasn't playing up to his $46.1 million average salary, either.
Cardinals fans will likewise wonder when the franchise will ever turn a corner. Arizona has missed the playoffs in eight of the last nine years, and things are tracking to make it nine out of 10 in 2025.
The way in which Arizona choked away a win against the Tennessee Titans in Week 5 was something to behold.
Losing Murray to an injury obviously didn't help the Cardinals' quest to contend for the playoffs. The offense wasn't faring that well with him under center, though.
The million-dollar question is whether we're getting to a point where the organization is ready to make a big change.
