Manchester City Agree Deal For Roberts

Fulham attacker Roberts appears to be on his way out of the capital, with Manchester City his next destination. 

John Percy of the Telegraph reports the Sky Blues will continue their recent spending after agreeing to sign the 18-year-old from the Craven Cottage club. 

Percy says the deal could be worth as much as £11 million to Fulham, with the player expected to complete his transfer on Monday. 

Roberts has only appeared for the senior team 22 times, per Percy, making the size of his transfer fee remarkable. Around £5 million will be paid to Fulham upfront, with a further £6 million of add-ons included in the deal. 

Roberts is yet to score for the Cottagers' first-team, but he has represented England through the youth ranks and is currently a member of the under-19 international side. 

The player has been with Fulham since the age of 13 and has steadily worked his way through the ranks at the club. 

There is little doubt Roberts is one of the most exciting kids in English football, and it seems Manchester City might have grabbed themselves a bargain, even though the teenager has little experience. 

He has the balance of a young Lionel Messi and is blessed with pace—and his initial £5 million fee is nothing to an oil-rich club like City. 

Roberts will be given time to develop at the Etihad, and with Raheem Sterling also in attendance, the Sky Blues might just have the most potent wingers in the league in the near future.
