All My Angles: The Continuing Saga of Karen and Kurt Angle

Every time I sit down and watch wrestling, someone always has to ask, "You know that's fake, right?" or "That's just a soap opera for guys". Yeah, I know, but there was nothing soap-like about it. That is, until TNA introduced Karen Angle.

We saw her first when Samoa Joe tried using her to his advantage in the "Winner Take All" multi-title match with Kurt, knowing that she wanted a divorce. However, Karen tricked Joe and gave her husband the swing, giving him the win. She then would be by his side wherever he went, manipulating whoever she had to to make sure Kurt stayed on top, even when it meant costing him the smaller titles such as the tag team titles.

Then what was supposed to be a special event went wrong. Kurt and Karen were set to renew their wedding vows with A.J. Styles as his best man. But thanks to wedding crasher Samoa Joe, Karen and A.J. were married in confusion. And what does the best man do? Plants a kiss on his leader's bride.

Viewers no doubt thought that it would be over quickly, but no.

They had their own little honeymoon, complete with gator wrestling. Weeks later, Karen asked for a separation from Kurt (possible that she doesn't want to leave A.J.?) to which he agreed, so that he could focus on his TNA Championship defense against Samoa Joe. Kurt would lose his title at Lockdown inside the Six Sides Of Steel.

Kurt got his rematch in the form of a Triple Threat title match against Joe and Scott Steiner, but would again fail. He then returned to the matter of Karen, begging her to come back home and "fulfill her wifely duties". And unsurprisingly to all of the viewers, she asked for a divorce and left the Olympic gold medalist on his knees in the ring. 

Then after A.J. Styles had been beaten to a bloody pulp by Booker T, Team 3D, and Tomko, Karen enlisted Kurt's help to drive the four away. As soon as he saw her run straight to A.J. and hold his beaten body in her arms, Kurt snapped and began to restart the beating.

The question is simple: What is really going on between Styles and Karen? While both swear that they're just friends, there is definitely more than meets the eye. Karen's absence from Kurt's side during his training period must've been spent doing something, and since A.J. hasn't been seen much, it's possible that the "marriage" is still going on. I guess we'll have to tune in next Thursday night, 9/8c on SPIKE to see the continuing story of All My Angles.
