Chiefs' Chris Jones Deletes Social Media After Jaguars Loss, Criticized by Andy Reid
Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones deleted his social media accounts this week, according to the Associated Press, after facing criticism for his effort on Trevor Lawrence's game-winning stumble-and-score Monday night.
"I thought multiple times we had him. ... We've just got to finish," Jones told reporters after the game. "We've got to finish. Multiple guys there that we've just got to finish that play. It was a fluke play for him to be able to break that many tackles. Yeah, I put it on us as a defense. We've got to finish."

Head coach Andy Reid was less than pleased with that explanation, however.
"You can't think that the guy is down. You can't think that," he said Wednesday. "You have to play the play. He knows. He's been around this a long time. That's really what it came down to."
The Chiefs expect more from Jones after signing him to a five-year, $158.7 million contract in March 2024. This season, the 31-year-old has seven tackles (four for loss) and a sack in five games, routinely facing double teams. But with the game on the line, Jones stood watching as Lawrence made his way into the end zone, a bad look for your highest-paid defender.
Fans thought as much, and Jones clearly wasn't interested in dealing with any more of the online backlash.
