Giants' Jaxson Dart Says 'Never a Doubt' He'll Play vs. Eagles amid Hamstring Injury

Scott PolacekOct 7, 2025

Jaxson Dart has no plans on missing his first start against a divisional opponent.

The New York Giants quarterback told reporters Tuesday there was "never a doubt" he will take the field for Thursday's NFC East clash against the Philadelphia Eagles despite suffering a hamstring injury two weeks ago against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The rookie played every snap in Sunday's loss to the New Orleans Saints and was estimated as a full participant in practice for Tuesday's walk-through.

"I feel good," Dart said. "I'm excited."

That is welcome news for the Giants, who are facing the daunting task of playing against the reigning Super Bowl champions on a short week. Philadelphia is also coming off its first loss of the season and will surely be motivated to bounce back against an NFC East foe.

Dart has been solid but unspectacular through two starts with a 1-1 record, 313 passing yards, three touchdown throws, two interceptions and 109 rushing yards. His ability to use his legs is something that makes him dangerous, so having a healthy hamstring against a formidable Philadelphia pass rush will be important.

The Giants are also looking to bounce back after Sunday's loss to the Saints, which marked New Orleans' first win of the season.

There will be expected growing pains for Dart in his rookie campaign, especially with star receiver Malik Nabers sidelined for the rest of the season with a torn ACL.

But getting the type of experience against elite teams such as the one he will face during Thursday's contest will also help him adapt to the NFL level with an eye on his future development.
