Louis Van Gaal Blasts US Pitches Being Used 'For One Direction Concerts'
Manchester United opened their pre-season tour of the United States with a 1-0 win over Club America in the International Champions Cup.
The match was played at Seattle's CenturyLink Field, and while United boss Louis van Gaal was impressed with the facilities, he was certainly not impressed with the pitch.

As noted by the MailOnline, "Grass [was] laid over the top of astroturf just two nights after pop group One Direction had played a concert at the venue."
Van Gaal hinted that pitches in the United States could be dangerous:
"The pitch was not good. It was difficult.
The first surface was artificial and it had grass over it. It was always moving. It's not easy. You can get injuries. It's a big concern.
It was like that last season against Real Madrid in Michigan. It's like this in the USA. These pitches are used for different tings
Old Trafford is used for football only, not One Direction concerts. Here its used for entertainment things.
"
While Van Gaal might have a point, Old Trafford has also been used for concerts in the past and also hosts Rugby League's Super League Grand Final during the football season.
