Fantasy Football Week 6 Rankings, Projections and Waiver-Wire Tips
Each week of the 2025 NFL season reveals a little more about the fantasy football player pool.
Hopefully, most of those revelations have been helpful to your team. If not, you might be in the market for some additions, especially if you have any of the top playmakers from the Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans, who have their byes in Week 6.
Whether you're looking to maximize the top end of your roster or bulking up the back end with the help of the waiver wire, we've got you covered here with early Week 6 rankings and a waiver-wire target (with projected stats!) at each of the marquee positions.
Quarterback

Top 10
- Josh Allen, BUF (at ATL)
- Jalen Hurts, PHI (at NYG)
- Justin Herbert, LAC (at MIA)
- Jayden Daniels, WAS (vs. CHI)
- Patrick Mahomes, KC (vs. DET)
- Drake Maye, NE (at NO)
- Jordan Love, GB (vs. CIN)
- Dak Prescott, DAL (at CAR)
- Daniel Jones, IND (vs. ARI)
- Caleb Williams, CHI (at WAS)
Waiver-wire target: Mac Jones, SF (at TB)
Jones has been so phenomenal as a fill-in for Brock Purdy that analysts are wondering whether the depth chart order should be flipped. While the 49ers surely aren't bailing on their $265 million man just yet, Jones' performance should allow them to play it cautious with Purdy and wait until his nagging toe injury is fully healed.
During Jones' three starts—all three Niners' wins, by the way—he has averaged better than 300 passing yards with six touchdowns against a single interception. And yet, he could be even more productive this week, as he'll lock horns with a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, per NFL.com.
Projected stats: 28-of-40 for 289 yards and two touchdowns

Top 10
- Saquon Barkley, PHI (at NYG)
- Jonathan Taylor, IND (vs. ARI)
- Christian McCaffrey, SF (at TB)
- Bijan Robinson, ATL (vs. BUF)
- Jahmyr Gibbs, DET (at KC)
- Josh Jacobs, GB (vs. CIN)
- Kyren Williams, LAR (at BAL)
- James Cook, BUF (at ATL)
- Javonte Williams, DAL (at CAR)
- De'Von Achane, MIA (vs. LAC)
Waiver-wire target: Rico Dowdle, CAR (vs. DAL)
If Chuba Hubbard's calf injury keeps him sidelined any longer, Dowdle might demand universal rostership. As it is, he's already been picked up in most leagues with any kind of depth.
If he's still available in yours, though, he's an easy add. He absolutely shredded the (admittedly shreddable) Dolphins on Sunday, turning 23 carries and three catches into 234 scrimmage yards and a touchdown. His volume would obviously decrease if Hubbard is healthy enough to play, but Dowdle has earned a bigger workload, and the Panthers face another vulnerable defense in the Cowboys, who have given up the sixth-most fantasy points to the position.
Projected stats: 14 carries for 51 yards, two receptions for 17 yards, one touchdown
Wide Receiver

Top 10
- Puka Nacua, LAR (at BAL)
- Jaxon Smith-Njigba, SEA (at JAX)
- Ja'Marr Chase, CIN (at GB)
- Amon-Ra St. Brown, DET (at KC)
- Emeka Egbuka, TB (vs. SF)
- Garrett Wilson, NYJ (vs. DEN)
- Rome Odunze, CHI (at WAS)
- Davante Adams, LAR (at BAL)
- Deebo Samuel, WAS (vs. CHI)
- Drake London, ATL (vs. BUF)
Waiver-wire target: Kendrick Bourne, SF (at TB)
Injuries have pushed Bourne to the top of the receiving pecking order in San Francisco, and his established chemistry with Mac Jones has allowed Bourne to capitalize on this opportunity.
While he'd been relatively quiet before this week, the stars fully aligned on Thursday night, when Bourne corralled 10-of-11 targets for 142 yards. If the Niners remain without George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk and Ricky Pearsall, Bourne could be ticketed for another big showing.
Projected stats: Eight receptions for 89 yards, one touchdown
