Pete Carroll Says He's Processing Raiders' 1-4 Start 'Poorly' After Colts Loss

Doric SamOct 5, 2025

Las Vegas Raiders head coach Pete Carroll expected to see some immediate success in his first year with his new team, but he's been hit with a dose of reality.

The Raiders fell to 1-4 with Sunday's 40-6 blowout loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Per ESPN's Ryan McFadden, it was Carroll's second-largest margin of defeat as a coach both in the NFL and in college.

After the game, Carroll admitted that he's having a tough time dealing with the disappointing start to the season for Las Vegas.

"I'm processing it poorly to tell you the truth because I did expect to win right out of the chutes," Carroll said.

The admission is a much different tune for Carroll from this past offseason, as he boldly declared on the first day of training camp in July, "We are going to win a bunch, and I don't care who hears that."

This marked the second time this season that the Raiders failed to reach the end zone in a game.

"[The Colts] outexecuted us," Carroll said. "… We weren't able to get off the field, and that's why they were able to sustain their drives."

Carroll and the Raiders will try to get back on track in Week 6 when they face the Tennessee Titans, who are also 1-4.
