Damian Lillard Wants Shedeur Sanders Traded to Raiders Amid 1-4 Start to NFL Season
Portland Trail Blazers star and Las Vegas Raiders diehard fan Damian Lillard has a simple solution for the team after it fell to 1-4 with Sunday's 40-6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
After the game, Lillard declared that he wants the Raiders to trade for Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Raiders veteran quarterback Geno Smith couldn't get much going against the Colts, throwing for 228 yards and two interceptions while being sacked four times. It's the second time this season that Las Vegas has failed to reach the end zone in a full game.
Sanders is riding the bench as the third-string quarterback for Cleveland, which recently named fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel the starting quarterback over veteran Joe Flacco. In his first career start, Gabriel threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns in a respectable performance, but the Browns lost to the Minnesota Vikings 21-17 in London.
The Raiders are unlikely to fulfill Lillard's wish to trade for Sanders anytime soon, but it's clear that Smith is having trouble putting things together with his new team after spending the last five seasons with the Seattle Seahawks.
