Allen is playing in the 159th game of his 13-year career. 144 of those games came with the Chargers franchise, as he spent the 2024 season with the Chicago Bears and made 15 appearances.
Through the first four games of the season, Allen recorded 24 catches for 231 yards and three touchdowns. He needed two more catches to join the 1,000-catch club, and it didn't take long for him to become the 16th player to reach the mark. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is the only active player with more receptions than Allen, with 1,019.
Allen will be remembered as one of the greatest players in Chargers history, and Sunday's accomplishment adds another impressive feat to his legendary resume.
