A'ja Wilson Reveals Text to Aces Group Chat After Historic 53-Point Loss to Lynx

Las Vegas Aces superstar A'ja Wilson revealed the text message that she sent to her teammates following the Aces' lopsided 111-58 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Aug. 2.

"If you weren't embarrassed from yesterday, then don't come into this gym," Wilson texted the rest of Las Vegas' roster, per ESPN's Michael Voepel. "You're not needed or wanted here. We need the mindset to shift, because that was embarrassing."

Minnesota's 53-point margin of victory was the largest in a road game in WNBA history.

The Aces' defeat also dropped them to 14-14 on the season and came just eight days after they suffered a 31-point loss to the Lynx.

Wilson's text instantly resonated with her teammates, as Las Vegas didn't lose another game for the rest of the regular season. The Aces finished at No. 2 in the WNBA standings with a 30-14 record, owning the league's best net rating over the final 15 games of the year (via WNBA.com).

Las Vegas' late push was led by Wilson, who ended the regular season with averages of 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.3 blocks per game. She earned MVP honors for the fourth time in her career.

The Aces went on to take down the Seattle Storm in the first round of the playoffs before punching their ticket to the WNBA Finals after eliminating the Indiana Fever in the semifinals on Tuesday.
