TikTok Climbing Star Balin Miller Dies at Age 23 from Yosemite Fall During Live Stream
Balin Miller, a climber known for posting videos on TikTok, died at the age of 23 on Wednesday after falling from El Capitan at Yosemite National Park.
Per Jaimie Ding of the Associated Press, Miller's mother, Jeanine Girard-Moorman, confirmed his death.
"He's been climbing since he was a young boy," Girard-Moorman said. "His heart and soul was truly to just climb. He loved to climb and it was never about money and fame."

Ding noted there were many people who posted tributes to Miller on social media, with some of them saying they recently watched him during a climb on a TikTok livestream for two days leading up to his death.
Exact details of what happened are unclear at this point, but Miller's brother, Dylan, told Ding that Balin was lead rope soloing on the Sea of Dreams route.
According to Dylan, his younger brother finished the climb and was hauling up his last bit of gear "when he likely rappelled off the end of his rope" and fell.
Per Yosemite's official website, El Capitan is more than 3,000 feet above the valley floor and measures more than three times as high as the top of the Eiffel Tower.
