Tyreek Hill Injury Update, Earliest Return Date Revealed in New NFL Rumors amid Chiefs' Interest
The Kansas City Chiefs are "very interested" in a reunion with free-agent wide receiver Tyreek Hill, according to The Athletic's Michael Silver.
The NFL insider added that Hill "is believed to be targeting a November return" from the serious knee injuries that ended his 2025 season.
Tyquan Thornton reportedly suffered a dislocated ankle in Sunday's 30-27 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, and Rashee Rice also exited with a hamstring strain. That is stretching the team's receiver depth to its limit.

Report: Chiefs Contact Hill's Agent
"In the wake of those injuries, the Chiefs have already reached out to Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, to express their interest," Silver reported. "They'd have to be satisfied with the receiver's recovery, but there would likely be no other obstacles on the organization's end. His tenure in Kansas City ended on reasonably good terms, and people inside the organization believe he would fit in well with the current team."
On Sept. 30, Hill had created some buzz on social media:
He subsequently made a cryptic post after the injuries to Rice and Thornton:
Hill, of course, is coming off a major injury of his own.
His 2025 campaign concluded in Week 4 when he dislocated his left knee and tore a number of ligaments, including his ACL. The nature of the injury called into question both the future of the 31-year-old's career and his future with the Miami Dolphins, though the former was quickly addressed.
"It's about rehab, and he will play next season," Rosenhaus, told ESPN's Adam Schefter after the injury. "The realistic goal is the start of the season."
The Dolphins made sweeping changes to the roster in the offseason, however, which included releasing Hill.
He left behind an interesting legacy in Miami. He was a two-time first-team All-Pro and two-time Pro Bowler with the Dolphins, helping the team reach the playoffs twice. In his first two seasons with the team he exceeded 1,700 receiving yards twice and had 21 touchdowns.
But age and injuries caught up to both him and the Dolphins in 2024, and Hill failed to reach 1,000 receiving yards for the first time since 2019. Worse, the Dolphins finished 8-9 and in the final game of the season, a frustrated Hill seemingly pulled himself from the game and hinted while speaking to reporters after the contest that he wanted to move on from the team.
He ultimately walked back those comments and publicly apologized, and the Dolphins welcomed him back in 2025. Hill was having a strong start to the year, with 21 catches for 265 yards and a touchdown, but it was the final chapter in Miami.
He's likely to get another opportunity somewhere in the league and Kansas City makes sense given all of the factors at play.
