49ers' Brock Purdy Week-to-Week After Suffering Setback on Turf Toe Injury, HC Says
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy suffered a setback with his toe injury during the team's Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and is now considered week-to-week, head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed after the team's win against the Los Angeles Rams.
"He's week to week. Don't know how [his toe] will heal," Shanahan told reporters.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport first reported the news, noting Purdy underwent an MRI after experiencing soreness following the team's loss to Jacksonville and it revealed an aggravation of the injury.

Purdy was questionable leading up to San Francisco's Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night before eventually being ruled out. According to Rapoport, he wasn't close to suiting up.
The quarterback could now also miss Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Purdy's health has been a major storyline for the 49ers this season, as he missed their Week 2 victory over the New Orleans Saints and Week 3 win over the Arizona Cardinals because of a toe injury before returning in Week 4 against the Jaguars.
Purdy was solid but unspectacular against the Jaguars as he went 22-of-38 for 309 yards and two touchdowns while also losing a fumble and throwing two picks.
The 49ers have dealt with a number of injuries already this season, but they can at least take solace knowing backup quarterback Mac Jones defeated the Saints and Cardinals when Purdy was sidelined earlier this season. Jones then led the 49ers to a surprising Thursday Night Football win vs. the Los Angeles Rams.
It's clear San Francisco can remain patient with Purdy with Jones capable of keeping the offense afloat for an extended stretch.
