Eagles DC Vic Fangio Compares Long NFL FGs to Steroid-Era HRs, Should Have Asterisks
NFL kickers are now allowed to break in the footballs they'll use during a game throughout the week leading up to the contest, a new rule for the 2025 season (previously, teams could only break in the balls for a short window on game day before the kickoff).
The result has been some absurdly long field goals being converted on a fairly consistent basis, and Philadelphia Eagles Vic Fangio compared it to Steroid Era in Major League Baseball, believing these makes deserve an asterisk:

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Ironically, however, the Eagles were one of the teams to vote yes on the rule change heading into the season, as NFL Network's Mike Garafolo noted:
Two of the five longest field goals in NFL history have been made this year (65 yards by Tampa Bay's Chase McLaughlin and 64 yards by Dallas' Brandon Aubrey). There have been four field goals over 60 yards made through the first four weeks alone this season. Cam Little also hit a 70-yard field goal in the preseason, though it doesn't count in the official record books.
Kickers have undoubtedly gotten better at their craft, but this year's rule change appears to have had an effect as well.
