Jerry Jones Teases George Pickens Contract Talks, Touts Cowboys' Salary Cap Space
It sounds like Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens could be sticking around beyond the 2025 season.
During his weekly radio appearance on Tuesday, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones hinted that contract discussions with Pickens could be on the horizon thanks to the team's impressive salary cap health.
"I'm proud to tell you that we've got some outstanding structure in our cap space that will allow us to do a lot of things that I didn't think (we could) at this time last year. … We got it. We paid a price for it. … We can do it now," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan.

Per Spotrac, the Cowboys have $32.5 million in cap space, the second-highest total in the league. Dallas managed to avoid a massive extension for star edge rusher Micah Parsons by trading him to the Green Bay Packers, who made him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
Jones spoke very highly of Pickens, who is in the final year of his rookie deal after being acquired from the Pittsburgh Steelers this past offseason. He leads the team with 300 receiving yards and four touchdowns, though Jones praised him for what he does off the field as well.
"He's an exemplary teammate. He's exemplary in his work preparation," Jones said. "You can see the results of that out there Sunday."
Pickens will look to continue making a good impression when the Cowboys face the New York Jets in Week 5.
