Odell Beckham Jr. Calls Out MetLife Turf as Malik Nabers is Latest of Notable Injuries

Timothy RappSep 28, 2025

The MetLife Stadium turf has become fairly notorious at this point, with a number of high-profile players suffering serious injuries on the playing surface in recent years.

Malik Nabers became the latest star to go down on the turf Sunday, joining a group that also includes players like Aaron Rodgers and Nick Bosa dating back to 2020 alone:

Former Giants' star Odell Beckham Jr. basically pleaded with the NFL to address the stadium's playing surface after the Nabers injury on Sunday:

According to Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA Today, the stadium put in a "multi-layered, dual-polymer monofilament fiber called the FieldTurf CORE system" in 2023 to "provide better stability."

Given the high-profile injuries that have continued to take place on the surface, however, it's fair to question if MetLife Stadium currently has a surface truly suitable for NFL games.
