Mahomes' history-making game sent fans into a frenzy as the Chiefs grabbed a dominant win over the Ravens
Baltimore's defense took a major hit in the first half, losing star cornerback Marlon Humphrey and linebacker Roquan Smith to injuries. Early in the fourth quarter, the Ravens lost another cornerback as Nate Wiggins exited with an injury, just moments before quarterback Lamar Jackson left the game on the offensive side.
Already depleted, the Ravens struggled to contain Kansas City's offense and ultimately fell to 1-3 on the season.
Before leaving the game, Jackson went 14-of-20 for 147 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception while losing a fumble. He also added 48 rushing yards and connected with Justice Hill for the Ravens' lone score.
Baltimore held a 7-3 lead entering the second quarter, despite Jackson throwing an interception to close out the first. But things quickly unraveled for the Ravens, as the Chiefs scored 17 unanswered points before Baltimore managed a field goal to head into halftime trailing 20-10.
Kansas City's offense found its rhythm while Baltimore's injury-depleted defense struggled to keep up. The Chiefs outscored the Ravens 10-3 in the third quarter, extending their lead to 30-13 heading into the final frame.
With Jackson sidelined and the defense wearing down, the Ravens appeared to lose momentum entirely. Backup quarterback Cooper Rush took over, but the offense stalled as Kansas City added one more score before pulling Mahomes with just under five minutes remaining in the blowout and a 37-13 lead.
Kansas City will travel to face the Jacksonville Jaguars next Monday.
