Shohei Ohtani continues to write his name all over the Los Angeles Dodgers' record books.
The superstar slugger and likely NL MVP hit his 55th home run on Sunday, breaking the franchise record for homers he set just last season.

Ohtani isn't quite matching his monstrous offensive campaign from the 2024 season (.310 average, 54 homers, 130 RBI, 59 stolen bases, 1.036 OPS, 9.2 WAR), but he's been plenty dangerous from the plate.
Add in the fact that he's returned to the mound this season and has been excellent in that facet of the game as well, and it's hard to argue against his second consecutive NL MVP award.
Ohtani and the Dodgers will open the postseason at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday after winning the NL West.
