Chris Jones to Play After Attending Aunt's Funeral Before Chiefs' Game vs. Ravens
Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones intends to suit up against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday despite the game falling on the same day as his aunt's funeral.
Jones' agents confirmed to Adam Schefter of ESPN that the six-time Pro Bowler will hop on a flight once the services conclude. He's expected to be in Kansas City ahead of the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.
The Chiefs added Jones to their injury report and cited personal reasons for his inclusion. They didn't give him a formal designation in terms of his status, leading fans to assume he'll be available to play.
The 31-year-old is aiming to earn a fourth straight first-team All-Pro nod in 2025. Through three games, he has five total tackles and one sack.
Kansas City will undoubtedly need Jones at his best to help slow down Lamar Jackson and the high-powered Ravens attack. Baltimore is the NFL's highest-scoring team at 37 points per game, and it's averaging the second-most yards per play (6.3), per Pro Football Reference.
