Joseph ZuckerSep 28, 2025

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Skylar Thompson reportedly was "jumped and robbed" on Friday in Dublin, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Thompson reportedly suffered minor injuries.

Steelers spokesman Burt Lauten addressed the situation, per Pelissero: "We are aware of a situation involving Skylar Thompson on Friday night in Dublin. We will have no further comment at this time as we are working with NFL security to gather more information regarding the incident.

The Steelers arrived in Ireland on Friday morning ahead of their Week 4 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings at Croke Park.

This is Pittsburgh's second trip to Europe as part of the NFL International Series. The Steelers and Vikings also faced off in 2013 at London's Wembley Stadium.

Thompson was already ruled out for Sunday's contest. Due to a hamstring issue, the team placed him on injured reserve on Sept. 10, which forces him to miss a minimum of four games.

The 28-year-old signed with the Steelers in January after spending three seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He appeared in all three of Pittsburgh's preseason games and threw for 498 yards and four touchdowns.

Prior to his IR designation, Thompson was the third QB in the depth chart behind Aaron Rodgers and Mason Rudolph.
