Giants' Russell Wilson Reportedly Expected to Be Trade Candidate at 2025 NFL Deadline
New York Giants backup quarterback Russell Wilson, who was benched for rookie signal-caller Jaxson Dart after an 0-3 start, is expected to be a trade candidate prior to the NFL's trade deadline on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
"Wilson is expected to emerge as a trade candidate prior to the deadline on Nov. 4, the target of a QB-needy team in need of a veteran, according to sources around the league.
"Wilson joins Atlanta Falcons backup Kirk Cousins as the top quarterback options potentially available if a team needs a long-term starter as quarterback injuries do happen," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Saturday.

Wilson has completed 59.1 percent of his passes for 778 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions this season.
He had two ugly starts in Weeks 1 and 3 sandwiched around a great one in Week 2 when he threw for 450 yards and three touchdowns against the Dallas Cowboys.
Wilson signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal with the Giants this offseason. However, as the NFL Network duo noted, that contract included an $8 million signing bonus. If Wilson is traded, his new team would only be on the hook for part of his remaining base salary.
Ultimately, the Giants have clearly started the Jaxson Dart era, in part hoping to turn around a dreadful start to the season. And with New York also having veteran Jameis Winston aboard to serve as a backup if needed, it makes sense for the Giants to take calls on Wilson, especially given his status as an impending free agent.
In the meantime, the Giants are hoping the Dart era gets off to a good start.
Kickoff against the Los Angeles Chargers is set for 1 p.m. ET Sunday from MetLife Stadium.
