Latest MLB Playoff Picture and 2025 World Series Bracket Predictions
A plethora of MLB playoff races will go down to the final day of the regular season.
Entering Saturday, there are ties atop the American League East and Central and in the National League wild-card race.
One of the three AL wild-card positions is also up for grabs. The Boston Red Sox, who clinched a playoff berth on Friday, have the potential to keep the Detroit Tigers out of the postseason.
The No. 1 seeds in each league have not yet been determined either. The AL East winner will likely be the top seed in the AL, while the Philadelphia Phillies closed the gap to one game between them and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Division Leaders
- Toronto (92-68)
- Seattle (90-70)
- Cleveland (86-74)
Wild-Card Race
- New York Yankees (92-68)
- Boston (88-72)
- Detroit (86-74)
- Houston (85-75)
The Red Sox became the fifth AL team to clinch a playoff berth on Friday with their win over the Detroit Tigers.
Detroit needs to win the two remaining games at Fenway Park to at least secure a wild-card spot.
The Tigers are level on record with the Cleveland Guardians, but Cleveland owns the AL Central tiebreaker. Cleveland has two games left at home versus the Texas Rangers.
The AL East race is also tied going into Saturday. The Toronto Blue Jays own the tiebreaker edge over the New York Yankees.
Toronto is at home against the Tampa Bay Rays, while the Yankees have the Baltimore Orioles at home. If both teams win out, Toronto takes the AL East and No. 1 seed and New York is the top wild-card team.
The Houston Astros are on the outside looking in. Friday's loss to the Los Angeles Angels kept them one game back of the Tigers in the wild-card race.

Division Leaders
- Milwaukee (96-64)
- Philadelphia (95-65)
- Los Angeles Dodgers (91-69)
Wild-Card Race
- Chicago Cubs (90-70)
- San Diego (88-72)
- Cincinnati (82-78)
- New York Mets (82-78)
The Cincinnati Reds are the most powerful team in the NL this weekend.
Cincinnati owns the tiebreaker over the New York Mets, so as long as they are tied, the Reds will get into the postseason.
Additionally, the Reds can affect the race for the No. 1 seed since they are playing the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Philadelphia Phillies are expected to beat the Minnesota Twins twice this weekend. The NL East winner will be hoping to get more help from the Reds.
The Mets lost to the Miami Marlins on Friday to bring them back level with the Reds.
New York needs to finish with a better record than Cincinnati to reach the postseason.
The Arizona Diamondbacks were eliminated on Friday night with their loss to the San Diego Padres, so the wild-card race is down to the Reds and Mets.
Bracket Predictions
3 of 3
The postseason appears to be wide open.
The three division winners in the National League have an elite combination of pitching and hitting.
Over in the American League, it's anyone's guess as to which team will advance to the World Series.
The Seattle Mariners own the best collection of starting pitchers in the AL. That combined with a home-run-hitting lineup could be the difference-maker to get to the Fall Classic.
Philadelphia has a similar combination of elite arms and power that make it a true World Series contender.
If the Phillies snag the No. 1 seed from Milwaukee, the case for them to make the World Series gets more convincing.
