Chiefs' Xavier Worthy Expected to Play vs. Ravens in NFL Week 4 After Shoulder Injury

Zach BacharSep 26, 2025

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters that he expects wide receiver Xavier Worthy to return for the team's Week 4 matchup with the Baltimore Ravens.

Worthy has missed the Chiefs' past two games due to a shoulder injury that he suffered in their Week 1 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers after colliding with teammate Travis Kelce while running a route.

Worthy appeared to be on track towards a return prior to Reid's announcement, as he was listed as a full participant in practice on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport previously reported that the second-year receiver will wear a harness once he steps back onto the field.

The Chiefs selected Worthy with the No. 28 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft before the 22-year-old put together a promising rookie season.

He hauled in 59 receptions for 638 yards and six touchdowns while also factoring into Kansas City's rushing attack, picking up 104 yards and three more scores on the ground.

Worthy stepped up throughout the Chiefs' ensuing playoff run that led to a Super Bowl LIX appearance, recording 19 catches for 287 yards and three touchdowns across three postseason games.

He'll look to provide a boost to a Kansas City offense that has played a large role in the team's disappointing 1-2 record this season, ranking No. 21 in scoring offense among all NFL teams by averaging 20.0 points per game.

Patrick Mahomes is also attempting to get back on track, as he's averaged a career-low 223.0 pass yards per game to open the 2025 season.

Kickoff between the Chiefs and Ravens is on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
