Yankees vs. Giants Reportedly to Stream Live on Netflix to Open 2026 MLB Season
The New York Yankees' matchup with the San Francisco Giants to open the 2026 MLB season will be broadcast on Netflix, according to a report from Andrew Marchand of The Athletic.
It will be the streaming giant's first exclusive MLB broadcast as part of a three-year agreement between Netflix and MLB.
Yankees-Giants will be a standalone primetime game on Wednesday, March 25, with the rest of the sport kicking off the regular season the day after.

Alongside its Opening Day broadcast, Netflix will have the Home Run Derby next season and Marchand reported it is "expected" to share a number of broadcasts—including the "Field of Dreams," "MLB at Rickwood Field" and the "MLB Speedway" games—with NBC.
Marchand noted that after ESPN opted out of the final three years of its deal with Major League Baseball, the sport "divided up ESPN's old package of Sunday Night Baseball, the Home Run Derby and the playoffs to Netflix and NBC/Peacock."
Those deals are reportedly expected to be worth $225-250 million per season.
Netflix has continued its foray into live sports in a major way, with a number of high-profile boxing events and NFL games on Christmas for at least the next two seasons. The streamer also has a deal with WWE.
