Shedeur Sanders Says 'I'm Ready to Play Right Now' for Browns, Talks Mindset as QB3

Doric SamSep 25, 2025

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders is unlikely to see the field anytime soon, but that hasn't shaken his confidence.

Sanders told ESPN Cleveland that he feels prepared to take the reins at any time for the Browns, but he's not stressing about his lack of playing time.

"I don't think playing or not playing is in my hands," Sanders said. "I think based on a situation, if things happen where I play, then I'll be out there and I'll be ready to play. I'm ready to play right now."

Sanders is Cleveland's third-string quarterback behind veteran starter Joe Flacco and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel. Despite not having a clear path to playing time in his rookie year, he said his mindset has remained the same.

"My mindset is just staying locked in, staying into everything, the main focus on the main thing," Sanders said.

The Browns improved to 1-2 with their Week 3 upset win over the Green Bay Packers, but they have another tough matchup on Sunday against the Detroit Lions (2-1). If the losses start to pile up, Sanders could have the chance to show his skills later in the year.
