Jaxson Dart Will 'Lay Everything I Have on the Line' After Replacing Russell Wilson
Rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart says he is ready to "be a spark" for the winless New York Giants after taking over Russell Wilson's starting job ahead of Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season.
"I'm just gonna lay everything I have on the line. That's just the way I play the game," Dart told reporters Wednesday. "When I step in between those lines, nothing else in the world matters to me except doing everything that I can to win it."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Giants head coach Brian Daboll confirmed Wednesday that Dart would take over for Wilson starting with Sunday's Week 4 matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Wilson was benched after leading the team to an 0-3 start, with an overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys bookended by blowouts by the Washington Commanders and Kansas City Chiefs.
When asked what he thought he could bring to a team still looking for its first win of the season, Dart answered, "The biggest thing for me is, I want to do my best to be a spark."
Dart continued, "I want to create excitement on the field, I want to be explosive when the opportunities are there, and try to bring a little bit of swagger."
Dart was also asked about what new responsibilities will come with taking on mantle of QB1.
"When you're watching film, you've got to know exactly what you're talking about. You've got to be on your s--t, point blank, period," Dart said. "I think for me, I'm just trying to be prepared, each and every day. And I think my study habits, and having those extra meetings are gonna put me in a good position to be confident."
Daboll previously mentioned those extra meetings when speaking about Dart's development after the Giants' season-opening loss to the Commanders.
"We're doing everything we can do, each week, to develop Jaxson," Daboll said when asked about Dart ahead of Week 2. "He spends a lot of time in the building, spends a lot of time after practice going through things that he needs to go through to prepare himself to be, if he gets called upon, to be ready to go."
The Giants brought in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston this offseason before drafting Dart, seemingly putting the first-round pick on track to develop behind the veteran quarterbacks.
Dart then beat out Winston for the backup job, and ultimately spent just three games behind Wilson before he earned his promotion.
Daboll mentioned multiple times when announcing the quarterback switch Wednesday that the decision to bench Wilson had been his.
The head coach is seemingly risking his job security, while his franchise is taking a chance on compressing their previously-planned development timeline, in the hope Dart can help the Giants turn their season around starting with a win against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
