Travis Hunter's Role in Jaguars Offense Won't Change Despite WR Injuries, HC Coen Says
The Jacksonville Jaguars aren't deviating from their overall plan for two-way rookie Travis Hunter despite their receiver depth being put to the test.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Through three games, the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner has 10 catches for 76 yards, along with nine total tackles and one pass breakup. He has logged 121 snaps on offense and 92 on defense, so the split has been relatively equal.
Among the reasons people were skeptical about Hunter maintaining a dual role in the NFL was that it would be tough to resist the temptation of playing him at one position depending on need.
Hunter caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior at Colorado. As a full-time receiver, he'd undoubtedly give a lift to a unit that's averaging just 214.7 yards through the air.
But that would mean disrupting a carefully constructed plan that was designed with his unique two-way abilities in mind.
As the 22-year-old gains more experience, his coaches may become comfortable changing up his role based on the matchup and what options are available at a given position. One week he could have a high volume of plays at receiver before shifting primarily to corner the next week.
For now, sticking to the script is the best thing for his long-term development, even if it's not what the fanbase wants to hear.
