Micah Parsons Says It'll Be 'Painful' to Sack Dak Prescott in 1st Game Against Cowboys

Zach BacharSep 23, 2025

Green Bay Packers pass-rusher Micah Parsons isn't looking forward to potentially sacking Dallas Cowboys quarterback and former teammate Dak Prescott during a Week 4 meeting between the two teams.

"It's going to be painful," Parsons told Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press. "That's my guy. He was always like a good mentor for me. But you know how it is, he always told me if I ever faced him that it'll be a great matchup, so I'm excited to see what Sunday brings itself."

Parsons spent the first four years of his NFL career with Prescott on the Cowboys before he was dealt to the Packers on Aug. 28 following a trade request that stemmed from a contract extension dispute with the team.

Green Bay sent defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks to Dallas in return. The Packers also handed Parsons a new four-year, $188 million deal.

"I think, as much as anything, it's good that a solution happened, Micah got paid, got paid very well, great for him and his family," Prescott said after the trade, per Tommy Yarrish of DallasCowboys.com.

Parsons has started off his 2025 campaign on a high note in Green Bay, recording six quarterback hits and 1.5 sacks in three games.

As for Prescott, he's completed 71.4 percent of his throws for 800 yards through three appearances. He's found the end zone three times through the air, but he's also been picked off three times.

Green Bay owns a 2-1 record to begin the year, while Dallas sits at 1-2.

Kickoff between the Cowboys and Packers is on Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET.
