Russell Wilson NFL Trade Landing Spots After Giants Benching for Jaxson Dart
The Russell Wilson era might be over for the New York Giants after just three games.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported head coach Brian Daboll plans to start rookie Jaxson Dart in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
In the event the team is ready to move on from Wilson altogether, his contract makes a trade fairly easy.
And even though the 10-time Pro Bowler's stock has fallen a lot in recent years, some interested suitors might be willing to step up to the plate. These three teams make plenty of sense given their positional need.
Cincinnati Bengals

When Joe Burrow was sidelined for up to three months with turf toe, Cincinnati Bengals fans tried to find what solace they could.
Backup quarterback Jake Browning threw for 1,936 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions when he replaced an injured Burrow to close out 2023. The Bengals went 4-3 with him as the starter.
Maybe the offense could keep its head above water enough to maintain a playoff push.
It took one Browning start for that optimism to disappear.
The 29-year-old went 19-of-27 for 140 yards, one touchdown and two picks as Cincy was blown out 48-10 by the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3. The Bengals were down by 31 points at halftime.
For all of his flaws, Wilson would be an upgrade under center until Burrow is cleared to return.
Miami Dolphins

A head coach on the hot seat and a quarterback who isn't delivering is a recipe to make a change, even when the QB in question is only in the first year of a four-year, $212.4 million extension.
The Miami Dolphins are off to an 0-3 start as Tua Tagovailoa is playing worse than he ever has. His QBR ranks 29th (35.8) among qualified passers at ESPN.com.
One could argue acquiring Wilson would be a lateral move when he has an even lower QBR (34.0). The 36-year-old would, if nothing else, give Miami an alternative if head coach Mike McDaniel gets desperate or Tagovailoa goes down with an injury, two things that could plausibly happen.
Zach Wilson and Quinn Ewers are the next two QBs on the depth chart right now, and neither is a viable replacement if the Dolphins have to salvage the season.
New Orleans Saints

Look, there are few things New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis loves more than a stopgap solution at quarterback. Since Drew Brees' retirement, the team cycled through Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton and Derek Carr before giving Spencer Rattler a shot.
Rattler hasn't performed that badly. Through three games, he has 639 passing yards and a 67.2 percent completion rate along with four touchdowns and one interception.
But it's somewhat telling New Orleans is 0-9 with him as a starter. Fans can occasionally read too much into a team's record when evaluating a quarterback, yet Rattler isn't making an affirmative case for himself.
Opening the season with Tyler Shough as the backup leads one to believe the second-round pick wouldn't be any better. Why not take a flier on Wilson?
