Bucs' Mike Evans Reportedly Expected to Miss 'Multiple Weeks' with Hamstring Injury
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reportedly will be without veteran wide receiver Mike Evans for the foreseeable future.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that Evans is expected to miss "multiple weeks" after suffering a hamstring injury in Sunday's win over the New York Jets. Pro Football Talk added that Evan's is believed to have a "mild to moderate" injury that is a "little less" severe than last year's hamstring injury that caused him to miss three games.
ESPN's Jenna Laine specified that Evans is expected to miss "three to four weeks" with a strained left hamstring. He underwent an MRI on Tuesday that reportedly revealed a moderate strain. When he missed time last year, his injury was to his right hamstring, and he also missed three games in 2019 due to the same ailment.

Evans suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game. He was visibly frustrated as he limped off the field and walked back to the locker room. He recorded four catches for 33 yards and a touchdown before exiting the game.
Through three games this season, the 32-year-old has 14 catches for 140 yards and a touchdown. The Bucs have a balanced passing attack with four players with over 90 receiving yards this year, led by rookie Emeka Egbuka's 181 yards and three touchdowns.
Evans' injury is another blow to a Tampa Bay receiving corps that has already been missing Pro Bowl wideout Chris Godwin, who is working his way back from ankle surgery. Fellow receiver Jalen McMillan suffered a neck injury in the second preseason game and is expected to be sidelined until after their Week 9 bye.
There could be some good news on the way, as Laine noted that Godwin "could return" for the Bucs' Week 4 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. For now, it appears that Tampa Bay's passing offense will run through Egbuka until the veterans are able to be back on the field.
