Dak Prescott Says It's 'Not Acceptable' for Cowboys to Score 14 Points in Bears Loss

Andrew PetersSep 21, 2025

Dak Prescott recognizes that he and his offense didn't do enough in the Dallas Cowboys' 31-14 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday.

The star quarterback called the offense's performance "not acceptable" for their standards.

"Scoring 14 points is never going to be OK," Prescott told reporters. "Dang sure not with this offense, this unit, the team, the players that we have. Not acceptable. Not to our standard. Not anywhere what we believe in and we're capable of doing."

The shaky offensive performance started with Prescott's play under center. He had 251 yards and a touchdown, but also threw a pair of interceptions.

In his defense, he lost his favorite target, CeeDee Lamb, early on in the game because of an ankle injury. Lamb said after the game that he "absolutely" feels like he can play against the Green Bay Packers next week, which is a good sign for Dallas' offense.

Even with Lamb sidelined, it was a bit surprising to see the Cowboys' offense struggle so much after scoring 40 points last week. Prescott and his teammates will look turn things around next week against Green Bay.
